Recommended transport
If you plan to use the Rail service or London Underground
as your transport to the hotel, we suggest you purchase a One Day Travelcard
for zones 1-6, Adult £4.90 and child (5-15 yrs) £2.00.
Children 14 & 15 yrs need a Child Photocard. Bring two passport size
photos and the child's passport. The card is free and you will be able
to use it during your stay in London.
We strongly recommend that you purchase the Travelcard, as this will allow
you unlimited use of trains, buses and underground for the day. Paying
per ride is usually more expensive and inconvenient.
Walking directions from Victoria
Underground and Victoria Train Station:
When exiting the Underground, come up to the main train station, walk
to Platform 1 exit, turn right. At top of street, at lights, turn left
into Eccleston Square. Proceed straight down and into Belgrave Road. Winchester
Hotel in number 17 Belgrave Road. Getting to the hotel should take you
around 5 minutes walk.
If you have a lot of luggage, take a taxi from Victoria
Station. This should cost around £5.

Heathrow Airport
By Underground: (Strongly Recommended)
The Piccadilly line serves Heathrow, with trains running every few minutes
from early morning to late evening. The journey time to Victoria is roughly
one hour. Take the Piccadilly Line to Hammersmith and then on the opposite
side of the same platform onto the District Line to Victoria Station.
Make sure that the train goes to Victoria Station. DO NOT board trains
to Edgware Road or Kensington Olympia.
Once you arrive at Victoria, follow walking directions listed above, with
the aid of the map by clicking on the link above.
By rail and Underground:
The Heathrow Express runs direct, high-speed trains between Paddington
Station and Heathrow. Trains depart every 15 minutes and have a journey
time of 15 minutes from Heathrow Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Allow an extra
5 minutes for journeys to and from Terminal 4. At Paddington take the
Underground District Line to Victoria Station. Follow walking direction
listed above.
By bus:
National Express coaches and Airbus run to Victoria Coach Station every
30 minutes. This is a very good option as the Victoria Coach Station is
located literally around the corner from the Winchester Hotel. Cost will
be roughly £7.00 standard single. The journey time may ranges between
45mins and 90mins, depending on the traffic. Recommended for late night
arrivals.
By taxi:
Journey time takes approximately 40 minutes to one hour and costs roughly
£40-£50.

Gatwick Airport
By rail:
Connex South Central and Gatwick Express rail services run direct to Victoria.
Journey time is around 30-45 minutes. Trains run every 20 minutes. On
exiting Victoria train station follow the walking directions above. Cost
will be roughly £8.20 standard single.
Taxi:
We do not recommend you take a taxi from Gatwick as it is very expensive
and takes a long time.

Stansted Airport
By rail:
Stansted Skytrain services run every 15 minutes (30 minutes on Saturdays
and Sundays) to Liverpool Street Station. Change to the Underground and
take the Circle Line to Victoria Station. Follow the walking directions
listed above.

Shuttle Bus to Liverpool Street Station. Go into the Underground and take
the Circle Line to Victoria Station. Follow the walking directions listed

Waterloo International Train Station
This is a Eurostar terminal that services Paris and Brussels.
By Underground:
There is no direct line to Victoria Station. Take the Northern Line, North
to Embankment and change to the District Line. Please note that this is
the shortest traveling time, however it does involve a long walk between
stations at Embankment.
By taxi:
We recommend you take a taxi to our hotel. The cost can vary greatly due
to traffic; expect to pay £5 - £15.

Victoria Coach Station
Winchester Hotel located 5 minutes walk from Victoria Coach Station.
On leaving the Coach Station walk up Elizabeth Street to Buckingham Palace
Road, turn left. Walk to Eccleston Bridge, turn right, and proceed straight
ahead down Belgrave Road until you reach number 17.

We do not recommend guests bring cars into central London.
N.C.P is a national car park located one block away on Semley Place and offers 24 hour parking and will cost £23.50 for 24 hour parking.
Warwick Way car park is located a 5-minute walk away on Warwick Way Road.
They offer 24 hour parking for £25.
